See What Happens When a Bunch of Kids Reenact the 2014 Best Picture Nominees

Feb 20, 2014

Love them or hate them, kids can be pretty cute when they’re wearing ridiculously oversized wigs, fake mustaches, and attempting to re-create dramatic scenes from Oscar-winning films. Kid Oscars does just that, paying homage to the Best Picture nominees, including American Hustle, Dallas Buyers Club and Nebraska.

Prepare to be charmed by two little ones turning the tense face-off between a Somali pirate and the captain of a container ship in Captain Phillips into a scene straight out of a playground: “No, it’s my ship!” The wigs in the American Hustle scene are hilarious. Meanwhile, a scene from Gravity had us chuckling big time: “Let go?” “Why?” “It’s the theme of the movie.”

Can these kids just host the Academy Awards on March 2? It’d be a lot more fun to watch on TV.
