Love it or lust it, the Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation is being whipped into shape for a February 13, 2015 release. We've seen photos of Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey — but only from the back (not that we're complaining). A new image of Dornan, who will don a suit and tie for the role of the 27-year-old wealthy entrepreneur, has surfaced. Dornan's Grey appears a tad stalkery in the picture, but the character is kind of a creep anyway, so it works (the tampon scene: never forget!).
E.L. James' best-selling novel, published in 2011, got a bit of a rough start when beginning the translation to film, particularly in the casting department. The novel sets the scene in Vancouver, Washington, but filming took place in Vancouver, British Columbia, finally wrapping this February. Subsequent books in the fan fic turned megaseller series include Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, but the future of the kinky film franchise all hinges on the success of this release (just in time for Valentine's Day, lovers).
Dornan has had a fantastic turn in BBC's The Fall as a serial killer in Belfast, playing the role with great subtlety. Here's hoping he can bring that nuance to the character of Christian Grey.
