It still boggles the mind that this is actually a picture of Luke Skywalker posing on the set of a Star Wars sequel that's actually coming to theaters next year. Next year! According to reports, Harrison Ford's leg is just about healed and production on Star Wars: Episode VII is starting up again following a brief hiatus, just in time for folks behind the scenes to have a little fun teasing fans with what's to come.
Here, producer Bryan Fuller gives us a good look [via Twitter] at Mark Hamill on the set of Episode VII, due to obliterate theaters on December 18, 2015. While he's not in costume, this is the first image of Luke Skywalker on set and, well, that's enough to get us jonesing for more.
You'll notice he's rockin' a long beard in the image, and that's because according to reports Luke is living like a recluse when we first meet him in the film, which feels similar to Obi-Wan's story when we first see him in the original Star Wars. Has the once Jedi apprentice transformed into his old mentor? Or is there much more to it?
Also, will the weird mouse doll make a cameo at some point?
