Since actors make up 20% of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Screen Actors Guild Awards have long been considered a measure of which way the Oscar wind will blow—particularly since for the last 15 years, no film left off of the SAG ensemble cast list has gone on to win Best Picture. Something the Coen brothers (True Grit) will surely take note of.
