If you’re a fan of action and sci-fi, today’s videos are something you’re going to want to check out.
We kick things off with a look at the first five minutes of Lockout, which features the always underrated Guy Pearce tasked with saving the President’s daughter from an outer space prison taken over by its inmates. Yes, it sounds a lot like Escape from New York, but it was written by the always-entertaining Luc Besson, so we have high hopes for it.
While we’re still not huge fans of showing the entire first five minutes of a film as a preview of what’s to come, at least this five minutes of footage is entertaining. Pearce gets beaten up while he’s interrogated, and in a hotel room – all while channeling his inner Joe Hallenbeck.
Lockout opens this Friday, where it’s likely to be overshadowed by Cabin in the Woods debut and The Raid showing in more locations. That’s too bad, because this flick looks fun. [via Deadline]
If that wasn’t enough for you, maybe you’ll enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Battleship.
In this new clip, we get an extended look at how Industrial Light and Magic created the film’s alien aggressors. From the modeling phase, to the filming of “pajama guys” in motion-capture suits, to digital imaging, it’s all covered here. As an added bonus, you even get to hear a bit from director Peter Berg and stars Taylor Kitsch and Rihanna, plus see some more footage from the film.
