On the surface this Scarlett Johansson short film called The One is nothing but a longer commercial for Dolce & Gabbana's The One fragrance, but when you sit down and actually watch it, the short reveals some really great dry comedy on the part of Scarlett Johansson. Here she channels the essence, beauty and oddness of "old Hollywood" by playing an actress talking about her career, coolly delivering lines like "Music inspires me, art inspires me ... but so does the wind," and "I've played a physicist, a nanny, a surgeon, an actress, a cannibal, a spy ... Actress is the hardest because you never know who you are."
Sure it's light and a little bit fluffy, but there's some fun humor rolling around in here and Johansson really makes it work. And hey, maybe you won't dig it as much as we did, but there are worse things than staring at a dolled-up Scarlett Johansson for a minute and a half. Either way the time will be well spent.
