Watch: Samuel L. Jackson on Why He Has a Purple Lightsaber in 'Star Wars' and What's Written on It
The great thing about sitting down with Samuel L. Jackson is that you can literally ask him anything. He's not offended by much, and he knows how to spin a good story. Here he is on The Graham Norton Show alongside Sandra Bullock and Nick Frost talking about why he had the only purple lightsaber in the Star Wars prequels. According to Jackson he requested the color so that he'd be able to identify himself among all the Jedi in the big Attack of the Clones battle sequence. He also claims to own the lightsaber he used for filming and that it has the words "Bad Motherf**ker" etched across the handle. Of course he does!
And it's videos like this that we'll show future generations when they ask why we loved this man so much. Even if this story is complete nonsense, he still sells it and it's still wildly entertaining, especially his notes to Sandra Bullock when she attempts to pick up the lightsaber and swing it like a baseball bat.
Amd here's that Attack of the Clones battle sequence.
