One of the nerdiest movies of the year is now available to watch in theaters or at home, and if you haven't gathered up a group of your closest Stanley Kubrick geeks for a screening of Room 237, then what are you waiting for? Over the years Kubrick's The Shining has been picked apart and dissected in search of hidden truths and meanings by all sorts of colorful characters, but never before have we seen it all injected into one ridiculously obsessive movie that's impossible to stop watching once it begins.
In honor of Room 237's debut this past weekend, check out a brand new alternate poster for the documentary below. And for those who still need to watch it, Room 237 is now playing in select theaters and is also available to watch on cable VOD, SundanceNOW and other digital outlets (iTunes, Amazon Streaming, PS3 Playstation Unlimited, XBOX Zune, Google PLAY and YouTube).
From our review: "Room 237 has been called the perfect film for film critics because it's all about the overly obsessive nature of dissecting a movie, something film critics get paid to do for a living. And if there's any movie worthy of a nine-part dissection, it's Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, which is one of those movies that will forever have people debating its signs, symbols, codes, meanings and secret hidden agendas spread all over the film like a psychedelic cream cheese. Through interviews with 'Shining experts,' Room 237 transports us to a world of wild conspiracy theories while also serving as a fascinating history lesson on both The Shining and Stanley Kubrick's career."
