The Haunting's Lili Taylor will be appearing in another supernatural tale, formerly called
The Conjuring. The actress will be starring alongside
Ron Livingston of
Office Space fame for a story about the real-life Perron family's haunted farmhouse ordeal. They join already announced actors
Patrick Wilson and
Vera Farmiga, who are set to play a husband and wife team of demonologists that investigate the chilling mystery.
In the 1970s, the Perrons moved into an old farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island where they experienced frightening, unexplained phenomena. The Arnold Estate seemed like an idyllic place for the family with five daughters — until strange spirits were unleashed by their presence. Paranormal investigative legends Ed and Lorraine Warren — who also lent their spooky sleuth talents to the real-life Amityville horror case — worked with the family. The Perrons recently released a book of their account,
House of Darkness House of Light: The True Story. New Line has been consulting the Perrons and Warrens to inform the upcoming film, which is now being dubbed
Untitled Warren Files Project as a working title.
It'd be great to see a truly terrifying supernatural story that didn't involve shaky cam (no offense,
Paranormal Activity), marketing ploys (we're looking at you,
The Devil Inside), or amazing actors (Elias Koteas!) performing crappy scripts (screw you,
The Haunting in Connecticut). So far, we're not feeling terribly confident since
The Reaping writers Carey and Chady Hayes have scripted this. What do you think?
