Rob Liefeld's 'Godyssey' Moving Toward Development

Jan 16, 2013

Godyssey cover artComic creator Rob Liefeld is one of the more divisive figures in the medium, but the Youngblood and Deadpool creator is set to bring one of his newer creations to a theater near you.

While Deadpool development moves along in fits and starts (will we ever really see a Deadpool movie at this point?), Liefeld has moved ahead with a deal to turn his comic series The Godyssey into a feature film. Now the question becomes: “where will they find actors with the unnatural human physiques of Liefeld’s artwork?” We’re kidding, Rob.

Godyssey revolves around a group of gods (Buddha, Jesus, Pangu, Zeus and Ra) who team up to battle another group of fallen gods. The stakes are high in this fight – humanity’s fate hangs in the balance.

Godyssey joins Liefeld’s Bloodstrike in development, but it remains to be seen how soon either project will get off the ground. We’ll keep you posted as new details emerge.

Have you read Godyssey? If so, do you think this is going to be an exciting project or would you prefer another Liefeld title get the big-screen treatment instead?
