Rodrigo Cortes' Buried was never given the distribution shot it deserved. Sure, a studio as large as Lionsgate got behind it, but then they proceeded to quietly dump it into theaters when it could have really made a splash with even a half-hearted marketing push. Instead the Ryan-Reynolds-trapped-in-a-box movie ended up playing a very distant and quiet second fiddle to the James-France-Trapped-by-a-rock movie, despite being the more interesting of the two confined dramas. Seriously, if you haven't seen it yet, do check out Buried. It's an intense one-man show that takes place entirely within a coffin and is never, ever boring.
Hopefully similar sentiments (minus the whole dumped into theaters part) can be said for Cortes' next film, Red Lights. The film features Robert De Niro as a famous psychic investigated by a psychologist, played by Sigourney Weaver, for being a fraud. Elizabeth Olsen and Cillian Murphy join the two veteran actors, though you'll have a hard time spotting anyone but De Niro in this teaser, which MTV premiered:
And to be honest, it's not a particularly great teaser. It's got the whole "hey, we liked Inception, too" thing going on, but I'll go out on a limb and say that's purely the marketing department and doesn't reflect the final film. At least I hope so.
