In the mood for a foul-mouthed red band trailer for a raunchy R-rated comedy? We’ve got you covered with this new preview for Nature Calls.
The title alone should give you an idea of what you’re in for when it comes to director Todd Rohal’s comedy. This clip is definitely Not Safe for Work, unless you work as a truck driver, or a sailor, or in some other profession where F-bombs are acceptable as nouns, verbs and adjectives.
Patton Oswalt, Johnny Knoxville and the late Patrice O’Neal headline what is an impressive comedy cast. Oswalt and Knoxville play brothers who don’t see eye to eye, but their sibling rivalry reaches new heights when Oswalt (a Scout Master) hijacks Knoxville’s son’s party and takes the kids on a camping trip. Apparently, foul-mouthed hilarity ensues.
It’s hard to tell if that’s really the case from this clip, though. Unfortunately, this red band preview seems more interested in focusing on the R-rated language than anything else. I’ll drop F-bombs with the best of them in my daily life, but it takes more than some blue language to make a film funny. If this is all Rohal is bringing to the table, Nature Calls could be in trouble.
We hope that doesn’t turn out to be the case – because Oswalt, Knoxville and O’Neal are funny guys and could really make this premise work (just think of all the physical comedy Knoxville could provide with his Jackass background…). We’ll reserve full judgment until Nature Calls releases on VOD next month, followed by its theatrical run on November 9.
