Watch: Rebel Wilson's Fake Rapper Is Funnier Than Joaquin Phoenix's Fake Rapper

Sep 14, 2012

One of the best up-and-coming talents to come out of Bridesmaids wasn't Kristen Wiig -- it was Rebel Wilson. The Australian stand-up comedienne is one of the funniest actresses working today (in this writer's opinion), and we're not the only ones who think that because the gal is lining up roles left and right. You can see her now in Bachelorette, and soon in Pitch Perfect, then again in Michael Bay's Pain and Gain. She's also a rarity in Hollywood -- a heavier girl who uses her weight to her advantage and embraces it instead of trying to conform to the typical skinny-girl Hollywood mentality. Wilson is truly a breath of fresh air, and it won't be long before she's headlining bigger movies.

Here she is playing a rapper called "Rebelicious," doing a much better job than Joaquin Phoenix did back when he decided to become a rapper and make the faux doc I'm Still Here. Thankfully Phoenix has returned to acting (and is amazing in The Master) --and something tells us Wilson's brief stint as Rebelicious won't interfere with her upcoming film roles -- but needless to say, this is definitely worth a watch. And when you're done checking out her new video, hit up the Rebelicious interview over at Bullet where Wilson, the actress, actually interviews her own alter ego.
