Crack Skulls and Stomp Throats in 'The Raid 2' Video Game

Crack Skulls and Stomp Throats in 'The Raid 2' Video Game

Apr 08, 2014

There's been a trend lately to remake popular movies as old-school video games. The majority of those are basically just pixelated short films and not actual games you can play. Well, apparently this is yet another case where The Raid 2 doesn't play by the rules, because its 8-bit version is totally playable.

As much as we'd love a game where star Iko Uwais could eat a flower and start shooting fireballs, naturally the game version of The Raid 2 is a side-scrolling beat-'em-up in the vein of Streets of Rage. It's pretty simple: enemies keep coming, and you've got to keep punching and kicking until your fingers bleed.

Check it out, and then check to see if The Raid 2 is opening at a theater near you when it starts to expand nationwide on Friday, April 11, 2014.
