Well it's finally here: Fantastic Fest is upon us! For most of us hard-core movie geeks, this is like Christmas stuffed into a Thanksgiving turkey covered in Halloween candy and delivered to us on our birthday. In addition to offbeat and obscure genre fare from all over the world, Fantastic Fest here in Austin has played host to some major studio releases. These were sometimes shown in their finished form as a secret screening or in work print form as a special event. We've collected the posters of 10 major films that have played Fantastic Fest past, and cropped them all to hell.
See if you can identify the posters and leave your guesses in the comment section. The first person to correctly name all 10 will receive a shout-out in next week's quiz. It won't cure your postfest hangover, but it's something.
At the very first Fantastic Fest in 2005, Eli Roth shared a work print of his film Hostel; exactly the sweet, feel-good family romp that Fantastic Fest audiences have come to love.
Last week's answers: The Others, Paranormal Activity, Monster House, The Grudge, Amityville Horror, Poltergeist, The Haunting, The Shining, Innkeepers, The Changeling. Big congrats to Parker, last week's champion.
