Gerard Butler plays a soccer-playing DILF who lets his burly brogue shine through in Gabriele Muccino's Playing for Keeps. The teaser poster featuring Butler surrounded by fawning soccer moms Jessica Biel, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Judy Greer is kind of nauseating, but he's a charming bastard so we get it.
The family-friendly romantic comedy finds the down-on-his-luck dad trying to coach his son's team and get his life back together while resisting the moms — all but Jessica Biel it seems. Well, she is the youngest of our former poster-girl group, and this is Hollywood. (Ick.) Playing for Keeps is light and fluffy, but like Film Stage says, if you're not into Hobbits, check this one out on December 7.
