Pixar artist Everett Downing has epic New Year's resolutions. He's creating and illustrating 365 newly invented superheroes in a year. He started the project a few years ago, but website Design Taxi reports that he got into a bit of a rut.
In an interview with Wired, Downing said working on his 365 Supers series has been an enormous creative aid. "It helped me loosen up — I was getting stagnant in my drawing. I was reluctant to take risks." At the moment, Downing has completed 291 artworks. You can track his progress over here. Some of his illustrations include little quotes or snippets of text that seem to inform the character's personality or powers. The superheroes range from the absurd, to the kind we definitely wouldn't mind reading more about.
