When I was younger, I was a bit of a “sneakerhead”. I wasn’t anything like the guys today, who go to extreme lengths to get the rarest new Nikes, but I was one of those guys who always had the coolest new kicks out at any given time. I was also almost OCD when it came to keeping them looking brand new.
Luckily, in my youth, the sneaker game was a lot simpler than it is today. It’s hard enough to keep up with all the retro rereleases of classic shoes, let alone the awesome designs being done by artists like Rachael Loraine. Had Loraine revealed these amazing Pixar-themed Nikes in my youth, I might have wanted a few pairs just for collectibility.
Loraine has shared a set of fan-created images featuring Nike hightops custom designed to correspond with classic Pixar films. If you’re a movie geek and sneaker fanatic, this is like a match made in heaven. All the classics are here – Toy Story, Up, The Incredibles – but since they don’t physically exist, they’re not for sale. These are all just ideas for shoes that occurred to Loraine as an artist, but you could conceivably take any of these images to a customizer and get them made.
This isn’t Loraine’s first set of animated shoes – she also created a Disney Princess set, a Cars set, one for Tangled, and even delved into the video game world with Pac-Man. Check out more of her work here.
