Why Cannes Matters: Buzz Films That Can Win Awards

The Cannes Film Festival opens this week with Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom, a tale of young love, buttressed by performances from the likes of Edward Norton, Bruce Willis, and Bill Murray.

The festival has always been a cinephile’s delight, but even if you’re not a hardcore film buff, it makes sense to keep an eye on the buzz coming out of Cannes, because it influences which films are considered “award-worthy,” as evidenced by the following titles.
