One might make a case for it in real life as well, but when it comes to traveling abroad onscreen, we tend to leave a trail of destruction wherever we go.
In The Hangover Part II, which opens in wide release on Friday, Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha head to Bangkok, Thailand for Ed Helms' wedding and, evidently, things do not go as planned. In general, Americans don't do so well when they travel overseas; sometimes they end up in Turkish prisons for smuggling drugs (Midnight Express) and sometimes they end up tortured by man (Hostel, Turistas) or plant life (The Ruins). More often, however, it's the Americans who are the ones inflicting damage upon other cultures. What great cities of the world have suffered from American citizens run rampant?
