Ten Perfect Pumpkins in Movies

If there’s one single item that represents Halloween better than any other, it would probably be the pumpkin. That glorious orange gourd-like squash is the perfect symbol for the year’s most fun holiday. It’s brightly colored, grows in some wacky, unpredictable shapes, and looks badass all cut up with a candle inside. Over the past few decades, there have been some great movie pumpkins and we’ve collected ten of the best here. Feel free to let us know your favorite movie pumpkin in the comments.

What better way to start talking about the quintessential Halloween item than by talking about the quintessential Halloween movie? One of the most iconic Halloween films (arguably the most iconic) originally aired on CBS in 1966 and quickly became an annual tradition for many families. Based on the classic Peanuts comic strip by Charles Schulz, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is a thing of beauty. Jam-packed with pumpkin-y goodness and full of all the heart and hilarity you’ve come to expect from Peanuts, the film represents the pumpkin better than just about any other film. So ubiquitous in pop culture, it was even treated to a Simpsons parody and you’ll probably be able to catch it on TV every Halloween until the end of time.
