Paul Walker and a Baby Take on Hurricane Katrina in SXSW Trailer for 'Hours'

Paul Walker and a Baby Take on Hurricane Katrina in SXSW Trailer for 'Hours'

Feb 08, 2013

Paul WalkerIf you were wondering when it was officially okay to use the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina as the focal point for a Hollywood thriller, the answer is apparently now. Filmmaker Eric Heisserer (writer of The Thing prequel and the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake) will use Katrina as the backdrop for his new feature film Hours – which is set to make its debut at this year’s SXSW fest.

Paul Walker headlines the project (which is still seeking distribution), playing a father forced to stay in an abandoned hospital with his prematurely born daughter during the storm. Flood waters, looters and a lack of electricity (the baby can’t breathe without a ventilator…) all conspire to bring about an unhappy ending, but we’re guessing Walker prevails in the end.

To help get you ready for Hours’ SXSW premiere, we’ve got the official trailer for your perusal. Sneak a peek at it below and let us know what you think.
