If you liked Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man but felt Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3 had too many villains, today's news may not be very encouraging, so let's just get right down to it: The Hollywood Reporter has spilled the beans that Paul Giamatti is in negotiations to play the villain Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. He would be the second villain in the film, the first being Jamie Foxx' Electro.
The bad guy's name kind of tells you everything you need to know, but if you're unfamiliar with the Spider-Man comics, Rhino is a guy who wears a special suit that gives him superstrength and super-speed. Combine those with a superstrong horn on the top of his helmet, and you can easily imagine the damage Rhino can wreck on New York City.
We don't have any new plot details with this casting tidbit, so we don't exactly know who is the bigger villain between Rhino and Electro or if they're even working together in the film. But that's where you all can come in. Feel free to weigh in, Spidey experts. Do these two have a history together? And if not, are you excited to see the movie make one up?
