No one can question Patton Oswalt's nerd credentials. The comedian has been a champion of the geek for decades, and it all feels like it's been building up to this, the finest moment of his career*: a nine-minute rant about what should happen in the next Star Wars movie.
This isn't just some Twitter tirade or Facebook post, either. Oswalt will be on this week's Parks and Recreation as an irate citizen who is trying to stop a city council vote by filibustering it with a massive speech. Instead of scripting the sequence, though, the show's producers asked Oswalt to just come up with something on the spot. This pitch -- which involves a robot Chewbacca, Avengers villain Thanos, the X-Men and more -- is the glorious, uncut result of that.
*Just kidding about this being his finest moment. This is an impressive bit of improv, no doubt, but we'd be remiss if we didn't point out that Oswalt is a quite capable actor when it comes to the dramatic stuff, too. Do check out Big Fan if you haven't seen it.
