First Look: 'Toy Story' Returns to the Big Screen in a New Hard-Partying Short

For their third in a series of shorts playing before other Disney/Pixar films, the Toy Story gang is back starring in the adorable-looking Partysaurus Rex. EW has the first images from the short, which this time centers on the dinosaur Rex (voiced by Wallace Shawn), who decides to reinvent himself as a party animal when he's chosen for bath-time duty. 

Directed by Mark Walsh, who's worked as an animator on films like Finding Nemo and The Incredibles, the short -- which references other Pixar films in cute ways (look at the toilet seat cover in the image above) -- is meant to delve deeper into the lives of those toys who have a specific bath-time purpose in life. Says Walsh, "If you’re a bath toy you get really intense playtime. It’s like a party. Then when the water goes down you can’t move. You’re helpless. And that’s pathetic, these guys in bottom of the tub all the time.”

Fans will have a chance to see the short when it plays in front of Finding Nemo 3D beginning September 14. And speaking of Finding Nemo, don't be surprised if there's a reference to that movie swimming around in that bathtub too.
