Check Out the Sexually Charged Trailer for Lars von Trier's 'Nymphomaniac'

Nov 22, 2013

UPDATE: The first full trailer for Nymphomaniac is now online, and it's very NSFW. Check it out below, but be warned -- there's so much sex and nudity you may need to take a cold shower after watching it. The film arrives on U.S. shores at some point next year, potentially with a rumored cut that runs upwards of five hours. Can you imagine watching five hours of this

Updated from 10/12: There really is no other way to describe this first trailer and set of character posters for Lars von Trier's much talked-about Nymphomaniac, which is set to debut in Denmark and Norway on Christmas Day, then possibly make its dirty little way to Cannes for a spot in the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.

The myths surrounding this one continue to build, with some stories suggesting it's five hours long and that a television show based on the movie is also in the works. We've heard of real sex on set, simulated sex on set and sex stand-ins, and as the ever boundary-pushing von Trier continues to tease us with what he calls "appetizers" (short trailers for the film), it's almost like the marketing is doing all it can to act as foreplay for a film that's sure to make even the most experienced among us blush.

For those still paying attention to the text in this post, the skinny on Nymphomaniac is that it follows Charlotte Gainsbourg's Joe as she recounts her sexual history to a man who finds her beaten in an alleyway.

Get a good look at the posters below (more over at The Playlist) because these will almost certainly be the most orgasmic character posters you ever see. As such, they may be NSFW.
