Blu-ray Bob is a little surprised that there are still Universal titles that were released on the deader-than-dead HD DVD format that have still not been released on Blu-ray. One of those movies is Ray, the biopic that won Jamie Foxx an Oscar for his performance of blind musician Ray Charles, which will finally get a Blu date on February 1. Supplements include an introduction and commentary by director Taylor Hackford, deleted scenes, extended musical scenes, "Stepping Into the Part," "Ray Remembered," "The Women of Ray" and two more behind-the-scenes featurettes.

A pair of Academy Award-winning films will get the royal Blu treatment on January 25. Ron Howard's 2001 biopic A Beautiful Mind about mathematician and Nobel Prize winner John Forbes Nash Jr. (Russell Crowe) won Oscars for Best Picture, Director, Adapted Screenplay and Supporting Actress (Jennifer Connelly). The BD includes several behind-the-scenes featurettes, including a meeting with the real Nash. Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet star in the 2004 romantic comedy Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which won on Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. The BD is loaded with behind-the-scenes and making-of featurettes, including a "Lacuna Infomercial," interviews with Winslet and director Michel Gondry and the Polyphonic Spree's music video for "Light & Day."

James L. Brooks's acclaimed 1987 drama Broadcast News starring Holly Hunter, William Hurt and Albert Brooks will get a high-definition upgrade on January 25 from the Criterion Collection. This caustic look inside the world of the Washington news media features a new documentary on Brooks's career in film and TV, a new commentary track, deleted scenes, an alternative ending, a new video interview with veteran CBS news producer Susan Zirinsky and more behind-the-scenes featurettes. The Blu-ray comes packaged with a booklet featuring an essay by film critic Carrie Rickey.

If you're feeling a little mushy after Christmas, Fox will feed that lovin' feeling when it releases three '90s romances on Blu-ray for the first time on January 4. The titles include Ever After: A Cinderella Story with Anjelica Huston and Drew Barrymore, Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock and Harry Connick Jr., and A Walk in the Clouds with Keanu Reeves and Aitana Sanchez-Gijon.

Good news for those of you that stream Netflix movies through your PS3: now you can do so without inserting a special disc into your Playstation by downloading the latest update. There is also an update available so you can stream Netflix to your Wii, which was a surprise announcement.
