Ben Stiller and his gang of historical figure friends are back for another adventure in the upcoming Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, and this time the crew is going on a road trip. Watch the first trailer below.
The second sequel in the wildly popular franchise (the first two installments have grossed almost a billion dollars in worldwide box office) finds Stiller’s security guard and his band of misfits traveling to London to solve a mystery in the Egyptian wing of the British Museum.
Since all sequels have to up the stakes in some way, this third feature will find the ensemble cast outside the museum and prowling the streets of London.
“We have brought museums to life, but we have never really explored the idea of taking the magic into the world. This movie really goes beyond the museum walls. We are out in London, on a double-decker bus, in Trafalgar Square. It's a juicy idea we haven't explored," says director Shawn Levy.
Fans can see this in action in the new trailer for the film, which also includes the standard physical comedy that we’ve come to expect from the franchise. Yes, we could have probably lived without the monkey-urination scene, but everything else here should appeal to longtime Night at the Museum admirers.
Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb features an ensemble cast, including Robin Williams, Ben Kingsley, Owen Wilson and more. The film is scheduled for a December 19 release, meaning it’s just in time for the holiday rush.
