Today marks the start of the New York Asian Film Festival, which runs from June 27 to July 14, 2014. Every year it's one of the biggest showcases of Asian cinema anywhere in the United States, and is often one of the only ways people in the U.S. will even be able to see many of these movies on the big screen. That's a bit of a bummer if you're nowhere near New York City, but if you are, this year's lineup of 60 feature films is drool inducing and includes (but is hardly limited to):
The Snow White Murder Case
The Terror Live
That's just a taste of what's in store (there is also a ton of special events and guests). And if you do happen to be in NYCC, the organizers of the NYAFF have offered up a prize pack for us to give away. It includes:
- One (1) NYAFF shoulder bag from Manhattan Portage.
- Asian Blu-rays from NYAFF sponsors Radius-TWC, Well Go USA, MPI Media Group and RAM Releasing.
- Two (2) tickets to see the Chinese Boxer with NYAFF Lifetime Achievement Award winner-director-star Jimmy Wong Yu in person on Sunday, July 6 at the Walter Reade Theater at the Film Society of Lincoln Center.
The caveat here is that you must be able to attend the July 6 screening of The Chinese Boxer, as that's where the above prizes will be available for collection (they will not mail them to you). So, if you're in the NYC/NJ/CT area and can make it out to the festival, just leave a comment below by July 4, 2014, we'll reach out to the randomly selected winner to get their contact info.
