Looking for the hottest new trailers, fresh out of the editing bay? We’ve got you covered in today’s trailer roundup.

Mama

First up, a brand spanking new clip for the Guillermo del Toro-produced chiller Mama.

Jessica Chastain highlights this supernatural tale of terror, playing a young mother who takes in two girls who disappeared on the day their parents were murdered. This kindly act is not rewarded, as the children are somehow “off” – and constantly talking about a ghostly form known only as “Mama.” This probably isn't going to go well for Chastain...

The trailer has that slick horror look Hollywood loves and features a few creepy moments. We’ll have to wait until January 18 to find out if Mama can really deliver the ghostly goods, but until then you can have a peek at this clip courtesy of Apple.

Texas Chainsaw 3D

Leatherface, the chainsaw-wielding madman of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series is set to make his big-screen return in the upcoming Texas Chainsaw 3D (still kinda bummed they dropped the “Massacre”) and we’ve got your first look at the new trailer.

Alexandra Daddario leads a new gang of unlucky young adults into the Texas wilds in this outing, where most of them will become intimately acquainted with the business end of a chainsaw. I’ve not been the biggest fans of the modern-era Texas Chainsaw films, but I’m always willing to give Leatherface another shot – because as Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 taught us, “the saw is family.”

Expect this one to carve its way into theaters on January 4. That should certainly help us all get through the holiday hangover… [via First Showing]

Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning

Moving away from horror, here’s the new trailer for Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning.

Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren are back in this newest entry in the series, but they’re sharing top billing with actor Scott Adkins. Adkins plays a man on a mission to find out who killed his family in Peter Hyams’ latest – and, naturally, that leads him to the Universal Soldier program. Much butt-kicking follows.

The trailer seems to have a pretty good ratio of action to cheese (Lundgren is hilarious…), so we’re crossing our fingers and hoping that Day of Reckoning lives up to our expectations. The film debuts on VOD on October 25, and will have a limited theatrical run starting on November 30. [via The MovieBox]

Stand Up Guys

Finally, we close with a trailer for Stand Up Guys – a comedy-drama starring Christopher Walken, Al Pacino and Alan Arkin. That cast alone should have your attention.

Honestly, we’re not getting a great vibe from this clip – but we’d pay to watch these three guys drink coffee in a diner. The idea of the film is that Pacino has gotten out of jail and Walken has been tasked with executing him – but they’re buddies, and so they grab Arkin and go out to have a good time before the death deadline (and presumed execution) is set to occur. All kinds of wackiness ensues.

We don’t expect Stand Up Guys to wind up on a list of any of these actors’ best work, but it still could be entertaining. Check out the clip and see what you think. [via Indiewire]
