Superman Metropolis Mayhem game

We’re less than a month away from the debut of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, and to help get you ready for Superman’s return to the silver screen, we’ve got two cool new things to share.

For some odd reason, there’s no official video game tie-in to Snyder’s new film (probably because someone realized movie-based games tend to suck), but if you’ve got a hankering to fly around Metropolis as Henry Cavill, you can play this neat little flash game entitled Metropolis Mayhem.

This browser-based title is vaguely reminiscent of Robot Unicorn Attack (minus the trippy graphics and music), placing players in the role of Superman as he flies through the city dodging obstacles and clearing a path with his heat ray vision. High scores are the name of the game, which makes Metropolis Mayhem just addicting enough to eat up your lunch hour before you move on to other things.

Give it a whirl and see how you do by aiming your browser here. [via Coming Soon]

If that’s not enough gamey Man of Steel excitement for you, then maybe this updated version of the latest Man of Steel trailer will satisfy your lust for all things Krypton.

The new trailer for the film is pretty great, but what’s even greater is this reworked version of the first trailer created using popular video game Minecraft. Minecraft allows players to build pretty much anything they can imagine, and the guys at Steelhouse Digital imagined the trailer in the blocky shapes of the game’s world.

The work -- a shot-for-shot re-creation of the trailer with the original voices and music -- really is impressive. We have no idea how long it took to pull this off, but we certainly admire the dedication. Check out the clip below and see what you think. [via Superhero Hype]
