New Show Teaches You How to Make Your Own 'Alien' Chestburster Cake

Jun 06, 2013

Combining two of our favorite things, food and movies, Bite Club took on the task of creating some tasty nibbles inspired by one of the greatest horror films of all time, Ridley Scott's Alien. If you're reading this website, then you probably already know that the 1979 film made Sigourney Weaver a feminist film icon and introduced some of the most terrifying creatures in cinema. It's such a badass movie that we can totally appreciate wanting to eat every part of it like the movie-obsessed lunatics that we are.

The Bite Club team, Jack Howard and Laura Jackson, whipped up some edible alien eggs and a lovely chestburster cake (on a live serving dish, who plays dead). Soaking hardboiled eggs in tea (with cracked shells) adds a really cool effect to the dish. Hopefully you know some people that would be happy to celebrate the aweseomness of this movie by eating stuff that resembles parasitic monsters that take pleasure in ripping through your insides. Convince them that cake tastes better when it's bursting out of someone's chest. Stayed tuned to Bite Club for next week's episode when they cook some noms inspired by Man of Steel.
