Considering it was marketed like a typical battle-of-the-sexes rom-com, a lot of people were pretty surprised when they went to see Don Jon and got an often raunchy faceful of a guy's Internet porn addiction. But it not being your typical rom-com is exactly what makes Don Jon such an impressive, likeable film. It takes a topic people don't really talk about and weaves it into a highly entertaining story about one guy's dating life and the unexpected ways he finds happiness. It's a smart, charming, flirty movie, and if Joseph Gordon-Levitt can write and direct a movie this good right out of the gate, we can't wait to see what he does in the years to come.

Special Features: "Making of Don Jon," "Don Jon's Origin," "Joe's Hats!," "Objectified," "Themes and Variations," HitRECord Shorts

You probably didn't see Ninja, the 2009 straight-to-video (but quite badass) martial arts movie starring Scott Adkins, aka the king of badass, straight-to-video martial arts movies. Don't let that stop you from seeing the sequel Ninja: Shadow of a Tear. If you like action movies where the fight scenes aren't a rapid jumble of close-ups, then this should be a top priority for you. It's an old-school, violent, beat-'em-up and one of the coolest action movies of the year.

The rest of this week's releases are filled with a smattering of titles that are intriguing, but certainly have niche audiences. If you like January Jones, check out her revenge Western Sweetwater. It was fairly divisive when it premiered at Sundance last year, but horror comedy fans will probably find something to laugh about in the aptly titled Hell Baby. Fans of old rock should check out CBGB, a film about the famous NYC nightclub. And if more straight horror is your thing, give Cassadaga (from the director of Dread) a look-see for an out-there premise and some freaky gore.
