In the same way that Simon Cowell says what’s really on your mind while Randy and Kara are being nice, sarcastic movie sidekicks say the hilarious, mean, bitchy and completely honest things that the virtuous lead characters would never dare utter. Whether they’re part of a cast of funny people, or the sole saving grace of an otherwise dreadful and spineless comedy, it’s sarcastic sidekicks like these who steal scene after scene from their top-billed co-stars and, more often than not, prompt us to see movies again just to catch all of their murmured asides.
