The new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises drops this week ahead of its big-screen premiere in front of The Avengers this weekend, but you know as well as we do that this franchise likes to take advantage of its nerdy viral campaign before it gives you any of the goods. Such is the case today, as the viral campaign has come alive once again over at the film's official website, revealing a handful of pages tied to the Gotham Police Department's search for Batman, who became a fugitive at the end of The Dark Knight.
The Dark Knight Rises picks up 8 years after The Dark Knight, right as the city is preparing to celebrate Harvey Dent Day, hence the heightened awareness of the search for Batman. But then Bane shows up and wreaks havoc, which we imagine is what brings Batman back to Gotham for one last go-round with his toughest nemesis yet.
Fans can partake in another viral adventure over at the site, where still images from the trailer have been popping up as folks unlock codes hidden within these police reports. Check out a bunch of the images below, and stay tuned because we sense the trailer won't be far behind ... [via Coming Soon]
