We’re still over seven months away from Transformers 4: Age of Extinction’s release date, but it’s never too early to fire up the hype engine for Michael Bay’s latest epic about “giant f***ing robots”. We saw that firsthand last week when Entertainment Tonight provided an exclusive set visit featuring interviews with the cast and behind-the-scenes footage. If that’s not enough to satiate your appetite for everything Optimus Prime, then you’ll be pleased to know that Empire is set to release its new issue this week – which features a cover story about the latest entry in the franchise, and a first look at the latest version of Optimus Prime.
The January issue of the magazine hits physical and virtual retailers on Thursday (just in time for you to read it between football games and tryptophan-induced comas) and showcases some new photos of Bay shooting the film (like the one pictured above) and the full skinny on what to expect when the film roars into theaters next June.
One thing we know we can expect is more of this new Optimus Prime. If you missed it last month, check out these photos showing off the leader of the Autobots’ redesign, then have a peek at the ET video below.
