Man of Steel's Henry Cavill may be rescuing us from injustices that have nothing to do with Lex Luthor and other rogue enemies. He's in Tarsem Singh's mythos tale Immortals, which hits November 11 – and a new trailer has arrived courtesy of RyanSeacrest.com (wait, what?). After the utterly disappointing Clash of the Titans left action/mythology junkies wholly unsatisfied, Immortals may be just what the doctor ordered.
While it's clear that the film owes a large debt to Zack Snyder's 300, Tarsem Singh is a brilliant and unique visual stylist whose stunning visions can certainly stand on their own. Way back when the film was being called War of the Gods, the director described Immortals as "Caravaggio meets Fight Club," and one look at this new trailer proves he's pulled that off. With Cavill in the role of the Greek warrior Theseus – who leads a battle against the long-imprisoned Titans – we not only get a peek at more of the action in this trailer, but also the intense visual effects, familiar slow motion scuffles, high contrast sepia tone palette, and ethereal touches that Singh has added to the Greek-inspired tale. It's also good to see more of the movie's main baddie Mickey Rourke as King Hyperion.
Check out more in the trailer below, and let us know if this quenches your thirst for sparring gods and other immortals duking it out across otherworldly kingdoms.
