When Steven Soderbergh's Haywire, the Ocean's 11 trilogy director's first real action movie, played to crowds as a not-so-secret secret screening at this year's AFI film festival, it was met with universal love, thanks in no small part to its star Gina Carano. Apparently, when you cast an ex-MMA fighter/American Gladiator as a black ops soldier out for revenge and have her pound on stars like Michael Fassbender and Ewan McGregor like pieces of cheap meat, it works out pretty damn well.
Haywire doesn't hit theaters until January 20th, 2012, but today we have the pleasure of sharing two stills from the film with you. The first is of star Carano, war paint on her face and gun in hand, and the second of McGregor, one of several government agents trying to get between her and the truth (others include Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderas, Michael Douglas, Bill Paxton and more).
