New 'Carrie' and 'Evil Dead' Remake Images Show Bloody Great Things to Come

Chloë Grace Moretz looks lovely covered in blood playing Carrie White in the upcoming spin on the classic horror story that Brian De Palma first adapted in 1976, doesn't she? The awkward wallflower with crazy mind powers went from meek to murderous when her classmates pushed her to the brink, and now Kimberly Peirce aims to create a more faithful adaptation of Stephen King's 1974 novel, revealing Carrie's deeply disturbing relationship with her mother, Margaret White (played by Julianne Moore), and high school frenemies.

The photo from Empire doesn't necessarily show anything different from what we've already seen, but it's making us wish October 18 would get here already.

In other horror-remake news, Sony has dished up some new images from the upcoming Evil Dead. A few are snapshots we got a peek at in the gory trailer for the Fede Alvarez retelling that's being produced by Evil Dead originators Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Robert Tapert, but others are new.

Five friends head to a remote cabin, stumble upon the Book of the Dead, and all hell breaks loose around them. Jane Levy, Lou Taylor Pucci, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore will fight for survival on April 5 when the film hits theaters. Go-go-gadget chainsaw!
