The Back to the Future fanboys of the world continue to make a giant stink about those futuristic Nike sneakers from Back to the Future II with the automatic laces, especially after Nike created a limited edition version (minus the automatic lacing) recently to help raise money for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Word has it Nike is still attempting to nail down the automatic lacing, and we're hoping a pair of sneakers that more closely resemble those worn by Marty McFly in the sequel will arrive by 2015 to coincide with the same year they travel to in the film. However, what's real popular right now isn't Back to the Future -- it's The Avengers, and one look at these awesome custom-made Iron Man Nike shoes may make you forget all about the automatic lacing for the time being.
Created by the Singapore-based company More Than Art to Wear comes these custom-made Iron Man sneakers that are hand-painted and feature Iron Man's arc reactor on the tongue, with the character's face on the heel, both of which use built-in battery-powered lights to more closely resemble the real-life version.
You can own a pair of these sneakers for $750, however it appears the company has halted all orders due to an overwhelming amount of them. But if you're interested, keep an eye out for when they go back on sale. [via Design Taxi]
