See How an Unknown Actor Nabbed the Lead Role in Disney's 'The Jungle Book'

When you're competing against 2,000 other young actors, how do you make yourself stand out?

Based on this behind-the-scenes audition video for Disney's The Jungle Book, all Neel Sethi did was be himself.

Sethi's full audition video is part of the special features on the film's upcoming home entertainment release, due to arrive on Digital HD, Disney Movies AnywhereiTunes and Amazon digital on August 23, and then on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and On-Demand on August 30.

Director Jon Favreau notes that Sethi stood out because he just "liked watching him," and it's that sort of down-to-earth humanity (for much of the video Sethi shows off his karate moves) that eventually won him the part. Amusingly enough, it's a part that wasn't even anywhere near Sethi's radar, having heard about it from a dance teacher who convinced him to try out.

Thankfully he listened as The Jungle Book is currently one of the year's most successful films, resting at just under $1 billion at the worldwide box office, with a sequel already in the works.

So to all you aspiring actors and actresses out there, take a tip from Sethi and just be yourself. (And maybe throw in some karate moves, too.)
