Batman: Arkham VR

Fans of Batman and Spider-Man got to enjoy them in action on the big screen this year in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War, respectively. But the superheroes won't show up again in theaters for more than a year, so in the meantime, what's a fan to do?

Happily, game developers have anticipated what fans want to see. In the case of Batman, Rocksteady Studios (Arkham City) is working on a virtual reality game that will be available exclusively on the newly-announced Playstation VR. Watch the trailer for Batman: Arkham VR below.

This is more of a concept trailer, but the visuals certainly set the mood, which is then enhanced by the voice of Mark Hamill as the Joker. The game promises to allow players to experience Gotham City through the eyes of Batman as he unravels a new mystery that threatens his friends and allies. It will be released in October.

Peter Parker (Tom Holland) was introduced in Captain America: Civil War as a teenager still learning about his superpowers as Spider-Man. A video game under development will take a different approach.

Spider-Man PS4 -- that's the working title, so expect it to change -- describes its main character as "an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City. At the same time he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of nine million New Yorkers rests upon his shoulders." Watch the webslinging new teaser below.

The game promises elements "never seen before in a Spider-Man game." No release date has been announced yet.

If you're still on the fence about virtual reality gaming, check out this video for Star Trek: Bridge Crew, featuring Levar Burton, Karl Urban and Jeri Ryan as they play the game for the first time and talk about the experience.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew is set for release this fall.
