The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Why is this New York City taxicab upside down? Director Marc Webb likes to share mysterious photos from the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and he captioned his latest image: "Day 90. It's hailing cabs," which we surmise has something to do with an action sequence that we're hoping will look pretty spectacular when the movie opens on May 2, 2014. Dumb and Dumber Sequel: Will we ever see a "true" sequel to 1994's Dumb and Dumber, one in which Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprise their roles in the Farrelly brothers' comedy? Both stars have been attached to a potential sequel, with Bobby and Peter Farrelly set to direct again, but now Warner Bros. has declined to move forward, and the project is being shopped to other studios. Though the budget is relatively modest, in the $30 million range, the concern is that it won't become the kind of monster hit the studio wants. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Loomis Fargo: Meanwhile, another Jim Carrey comedy is moving forward. Owen Wilson will be joining Carrey for the movie, formerly known as Loomis Fargo. A new title for the action comedy has not yet been determined, but it is known that it revolves around an armored car driver who turns robber and is then double-crossed by his new partners in crime. Jared Hess (Napolean Dynamite) will direct. [Deadline]

Need for Speed Clip: "Awesome" and "authentic" are the key things that director Scott Waugh says he wants to capture in Need for Speed, the big-screen adaptation of the video game, due out in the spring of 2014. Behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, which is now in production, has been released, and the bobbing cameras and superfast racing cars certainly make it look like everyone's on the right track.
