Oscar-nominated writer Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3) is currently in negotiations to work on the script for Disney's re-vamped
Snow and the Seven, an adaptation of the classic Snow White story that takes place in China. Yes, China.
The Hollywood Reporter says the story will center on a 19th Century Englishwoman, rumored to be played by
Natalie Portman, who returns to her Hong Kong home for her father's funeral, only to discover her stepmother is plotting against her. Escaping mainland China, she finds solace among a rogue band of seven international warriors, one of whom is
rumored to be Jet Li. Essentially this movie sounds like Kristin Kreuk's
Snow White: The Fairest of Them All meets Kristin Kreuk's
Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li, so the question is, if Portman is a no-go due to her current pregnancy, who else could fill the shoes? (Beside the obvious
Kristin Kreuk. Again.)
