X-Men: Days of Future Past

X-Men: Days of Future Past: Some of the photos that director Bryan Singer has been sharing during production of X-Men: Days of Future Past have been, shall we say, mysterious, but this particular picture is highly technical. He says it's the brightest set he's ever filmed on, and makes reference to 3,600 frames per second, which is super slow-motion and evidently what's required to capture the high-speed adventures of the mutant Quicksilver (Evan Peters) for the movie, which is due out on May 23, 2014. King Harald: Leonardo DiCaprio will help produce King Harald, a Viking epic in which he may also star. The titular character ruled as king of Norway in the 11th century for 20 years before being exiled to Russia due to his "quest for power and thirst for battle." The project is based on a pitch by writer Mark L. Smith, so it's very much in the early stages. [Deadline]

The Good House: Robert De Niro will reunite with Meryl Streep for the first time in 17 years. They first appeared together in The Deer Hunter (1978), played a romantic couple in Falling in Love (1984), and later made Marvin's Room (1996). They are now set to star together in The Good House, based on Ann Leary's "darkly comic" novel about a realtor (Streep) who rekindles a romance with "an old flame" (De Niro). Michael Cunningham (The Hours) will write the screenplay. [Deadline]

Enough Said Trailer: When James Gandolfini died unexpectedly earlier this year, he left behind several unreleased projects. First out of the gate is Enough Said, a romantic comedy in which Gandolfini plays opposite Julia Louis-Dreyfus; they're single parents with children who begin dating, but it's Gandolfini's ex-wife (Catherine Keener) who may be the biggest obstacle in their love life. The first trailer is funny and, yes, a touch bittersweet; the movie is due in theaters on September 20. [Los Angeles Times]
