Movie News: Steve Carell's Big 'Foxcatcher' Nose (Pic); Jason Reitman Wants Adam Sandler

Foxcatcher: Steve Carell has a big nose. We don't mean that in a mean or unkind or judgmental way; we're just reporting what we're seeing as the feature that stands out the most in a new image from Foxcatcher, in which Carell plays John du Pont, the real-life heir to a fortune who was heavily involved with college wrestling. And then a murder happened. Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo also star; the movie will world premiere at AFI Fest in early November and then hit theaters on December 20. [Coming Soon]

Men, Women and Children: Jason Reitman, whose new drama Labor Day premiered in Telluride and will be featured at the Toronto fest, is looking at making Men, Women and Children his next movie -- and he wants Adam Sandler to star. Jennifer Garner, Rosemarie DeWitt and Cameron Diaz are also in the casting mix; the source material is a novel by Chad Kultgen about "the navigation of sexual awakenings in a digital age." [Deadline]

The Lost City of Z: The much-in-demand Benedict Cumberbatch -- he has supporting roles in no less than three films debuting at the Toronto International Film Festival -- appears to have found his next lead role. He's in negotiations to star in The Lost City of Z, with director James Gray (The Immigrant) at the helm. The movie is based on a book by David Grann that detailed the 1925 journey of a man deep into the Amazon jungle; his intention was to map the region, but instead he discovered a mysterious, mythical city. Previously, Brad Pitt had been mentioned for the role. [Deadline]

Gravity Trailer: We've seen multiple teasers for Alfonso Cuaron's science fiction adventure Gravity, starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock as astronauts dealing with a disaster in space, and now we finally have a more traditional, full trailer, which is no less stunning than what we've already seen and heard so much about. The movie will fly into theaters on October 4. [Warner Bros.]
