Movie News: Stephen King's 'Dark Tower' Eyes Danish Director; Watch a New 'Paper Towns' Trailer

The Dark Tower: Nikolaj Arcel, who guided the Danish period drama A Royal Affair to critical acclaim, is under consideration to direct Stephen King's The Dark Tower. Arcel, a veteran TV and feature film writer, would oversee a rewrite of the script and then direct the first movie in the planned series, which revolves around the adventures of a so-called "gunslinger" named Roland Deschain. Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Guardians of the Galaxy 2: Writer/director James Gunn has submitted his first draft of the screenplay for the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. He also hinted that the movie's full title is a secret that he does not yet want to reveal; up to now, Marvel has referred to it as Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Spider-Man: As Marvel narrows down its list of actors to play Spider-Man, it's doing the same with candidates to direct the reboot of the series, which will be set in high school and lean toward the lighter side of the character. Reportedly, the directorial favorites are Theodore Melfi (St. Vincent, above left) and Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies, above right), with the team of John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein (Vacation) also in contention, along with Jon Watts (Cop Car). The movie is due out on July 28, 2017. [Deadline]

Paper Towns Trailer: A new trailer for Paper Towns, based on a popular novel by John Green (The Fault in Our Stars), lays out the premise of the movie.
