Grudge Match: An epic battle between Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro will happen! Warner Bros. has given the go-ahead to Grudge Match, in which the two 60-something stars will play retired boxers who get back in the ring. The project, a comedy, was first reported back in May; since then, Kevin Hart has been added as a boxing promoter. Peter Segal (Anger Management, Get Smart) will direct. It’s not exactly Rocky vs. Raging Bull, but close enough.  [Deadline]

Pacific Rim: Guillermo del Toro’s “giant robots vs. monsters” movie Pacific Rim is shaping up as one of next summer’s most anticipated releases, and a new retro-style poster released for New York Comic-Con only adds to the excitement. The poster was created by Raúl Monge (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy 2), a Spanish artist who serves as a concept artist for the movie, which stars Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Ron Perlman. Ben Affleck: We just heard that Argo actor-director Ben Affleck might star as a con man in Focus, and now comes word that he may tackle a period drama as his next writing-directing (and starring) project. Live By Night is based on a recent novel by Dennis Lehane, who wrote the book that served as the basis for Affleck’s Gone Baby Gone; the story is set in the Prohibition Era and follows the dishonorable son of a police captain as he rises through the ranks of organized crime. Gangster Squad Trailer: Delayed due to a scene that bore an unfortunate resemblance to the deady shooting tragedy in Aurora, Colorado, Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad has debuted a new trailer, with key sequences moving to Chinatown from a movie theater. Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone and Sean Penn star; the film is due out in January. [The Film Stage]
