Steven Spielberg

Thank You for Your Service: Recently Steven Spielberg committed to direct Bradley Cooper in the film version of Chris Kyle's autobiography American Sniper, and the director is reportedly eyeing another war picture. Jason Dean Hall, who adapted American Sniper, is in talks to adapt Thank You for Your Service, a book by David Frankel that examines post-traumatic stress disorder suffered by veterans. The report initially stated Spielberg might want to reteam with Lincoln star Daniel Day-Lewis, a rumor that's since been scrubbed by the source. [Deadline]

Kristen Stewart: Post-Twilight and Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart is choosing to go indie, lining up two projects outside the Hollywood studio system. She'll be joining Chloe Moretz and Juliette Binoche in Sils Mara for acclaimed director Olivier Assayas; she'll play an assistant for an older actress who becomes obsessed with a younger actress. She'll also star in Camp X-ray as a woman who enlists in the military hoping to see action, only to be deployed to Guantanamo, where she strikes up a friendship with an imprisoned man. [The Wrap]

The To Do List Trailer: Aubrey Plaza stars as a highly accomplished but sexually naive high school graduate who sets out to "cure" herself of her inexperience in The To Do List. The new trailer establishes a raunchy yet sweet tone for the movie, which opens on July 26; Alia Shawkat, Bill Hader and Rachel Bilson also star. [Yahoo! Movies]

The Family Trailer: International action maestro Luc Besson turns to matters more domestic -- but no less explosive -- in the upcoming movie The Family (formerly titled Malavita). Robert De Niro stars as a Mob informant in the witness protection program who is relocated to Paris, where trouble follows. Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones also star; the action comedy slams into theaters on September 20. [Jo Blo]
