X-Men: Apocalypse

X-Men: Apocalypse: Director Bryan Singer shared the first on-set photo of new X-Men: Apocalypse stars Lana Condor and Sophie Turner (TV's Game of Thrones). The two young actresses have been cast as mutant heroines Jubilee and Jean Grey, respectively, in the movie that is set in 1983 (which explains their outfits). It's scheduled for release on May 27, 2016. [Vulture]

Foxcatcher

The Forever War: Channing Tatum is attached to star in The Forever War, an adaptation of Joe Haldeman's "phenomenal" science fiction novel, first published in 1974. The book "blends a sort of time travel with the emotional trauma war inflicts on soldiers," as our own Peter Hall noted back in 2012, when Ridley Scott was still trying to make the movie. Jon Spaihts (Prometheus) has been hired to write a new draft of the screenplay. [Deadline]

Untitled R-Rated Comedy: Leslie Mann will topline a raunchy, "female-driven" comedy that was written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. The duo wrote The Hangover and will direct the new project; Judd Apatow will serve as one of the producers. Mann says the movie is "about women and the challenges of motherhood." Production is expected to get underway this summer in New York. [Deadline]

Legend

Legend Trailer: Tom Hardy plays a dual role in Legend, the story of infamous twin brothers who blazed a vicious path through the criminal underworld in the U.K. during the 1960s, as made clear in the first trailer. Brian Helgeland (42) wrote and directed the gangster drama; it's heading to theaters later this year. [Studio Canal UK]
